Pumpkin patch day started off a little rough…it was windy and the patch tractor deserted us in the middle of the pumpkin patch, with a grumpy toddler and a tired baby. But all in all , it was fun to see all the fall colors and pick out the perfect pumpkin. We searched and searched for the perfect pumpkin, but couldn't find one that suited us. So we searched though the pre-picked wagons and found some beautiful cinderella pumpkins and gourds. As we fill our wheel barrel full of autumn gourds and we approach the pumpkin scales…the moment of truth, how much is this going to cost us, we only had $20 in cash left and the pumpkins were $0.48 per pound. Ryan picks up the first pumpkin….48 pounds…okay? We still have 3 more pumpkins to weigh…so we put back the apparently very dense pumpkin and get 2 smaller decorative one. We ended up with 1 giant gourd, 1 carving pumpkin, 1 cinderella pumpkin and 1 green decorative pumpkin for 37 pounds. Whew…cutting it close.
