Tate: 3 Years

I have not been as good about keeping a log of developmental milestones…maybe cuz I'm too busy or maybe cuz I just don't care or obsess over it…but I know when these kids are in high school I'll wish I had all this info, so here is what Tate has done in the last year.

He went pant-less for the first half of his 2nd year…he was very good at potty training but became accustomed to the freedom of a pant-less life.

At the beginning of the year Tate liked lightning mc queen

wore 2T clothes

size 7 shoe

could count to 10

letters a-e

slept in a crib

wore a diaper at night

spoke in 3-4 word sentences

Wore a diaper at night until July and now he is diaper free and never has accidents

Started cup training and now drinks from cups

July- discovered that worms taste good

and so does corn on the cob

Takes beth with sister

Brave, and like to try new things

Before

-He doesn't like to look handsome…don't even suggest that he is

-He pretends to sleep or goes limp when we try to learn…preschool should be interesting

-He doesn't like big crowds or too much commotion, would rather sit back and watch

-Is Riley's shadow and it drives Riley nuts and entertains us

-Eats anything healthy and turns down sweets sometimes…not sure why?

-doesn't like to be cold or hot…likes to stay indoors in the winter

-insists on doing things himself…very much wants to be a big boy

-still follows me everywhere, it's a fight between him and blakely who sits on my lap

-counts to 20

-knows the alphabet, but pretends not too

-can play the leap pad and play games on the computer

-speaks in full sentences

-makes his bed

-brushes his teeth

-has one chore, take recycle out to bin

-dresses himself and put socks on…working on velcro shoes and he sometimes puts his pants on backwards. (see above pic)

-wears 4T clothes

-size 10 shoes

-Sleeps in the bottom bunk

-brushes his teeth

-buckles his own car seat

-favorite food is peanut butter, carrots and "granch"

-Listens and is calm (for a 3 year old) doesn't throw that many fits

-Takes a 2 hour afternoon nap

-causes trouble at bedtime

-is very lovey with everyone

and manipulates me with those blue eyes, that million dollar smile and a big hug
