Tate 2 Year Pictures

When I take pictures of other peoples' children and babies, I think of them as my own.  I don't photograph my children any different than I would a client…except I yell at my children, I don't yell at other peoples' children :)

12 month, 18 month and 2 year pictures are the hardest…BUT if you are patient you might capture a special moment that defines that toddlers personality in one picture!
Like this one….

Doesn't this just say "how sweet am I?"

This is Taters blankey and we all know how much he loves that thing…he is very territorial about what can be in his crib.  George the monkey and Blankey are the only ones allowed…

Here he is making George fart...

and per request, we did a hunting picture
for Grandpa Phil (or "Happa Pill" as Tate would say it)

Cars 2 Party!

Tate had his Cars 2 Party (that's what Riley called it)
It was a lot of fun…decorating for birthday parties is like christmas in our house.  When the boys go to bed we start decorating and when they come down in the morning they are blown away by the transformation.  Tate was turning circles at all the McQueens.  His favorite was the tractor tippin' wall.
We had brats, macaroni salad and tater chips :)  I made red velvet cupcakes as well as a mini cake for Tate.

The Invite

Tate wore a name tag saying :  "ask me if I have to potty" just to avoid accidents

A little after party snack with Dad.

Thank you to every one who came and wished Tate a happy birthday!

Tater is Two

Tate turn two this weekend and I think his birthday snuck up on everyone…hard to swallow that he is TWO already. When it comes to Tate we have to think real hard to remember what he was like as a baby, because the second half of his year I was pregnant…and although I tried to capture every moment I could with him, I couldn't help but be preoccupied with the pregnancy.  So to help us all remember Tate's first 2 years, I have compiled my favorite pictures that I think, show his personality best.

With the second pregnancy, I was on the fence with whether I wanted a boy or a girl…and at 17 weeks I was walking down the stairs and it hit me "ITS A BOY!"  I just knew it and the ultra sound confirmed it…I cried so much during the utlrasound the technician thought I was upset about having a boy, but really I was so happy!
The timeline for getting pregnant with our second baby was suppose to have happened 7 month before it actually did.  We wanted a second baby so bad…I found out I was pregnant the day we moved into our new house.  I was fine the first trimester and then sick until 27 weeks and then had horrible blood pressure issues the third trimester.

We were induced on the 15th of March and he was born at 9:59am on the 16th of March.  Ryan almost missed the birth:  here is the full birth story…

Tate's First Birthday

He loves to play with Riley and always asks "where's riley?  is he naughty…is he in bed?"

He loves "babies"  any small stuffed animal is his "baby"

He was a sweet baby…I remember he only pooped when I fed him…I would change him and then we would have to eat again.  He wanted to eat every 2 hours for the first week…it was rough.

He was such a skinny baby…6 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long

Here he is at 3 months

Tate crawled at 7 months

climbed to stand at 5 months

He used those big bears paws and octopus arms to grab anything in sight

He got his first bottom teeth at 5 months and the two top teeth at 7 months...

wanted to share all meals...

He loves to eat and try new foods… he ALWAYS eats my salads…he loves lettuce.  He was never hesitant to make a mess…just didn't like the clean up.

He loved his monkey pacifier until he chewed off the nipple

Tater is our smiley…fun loving little boy…he is always causing trouble but never naughty :)

Oh Tater…I hope you know one day how much you are loved.  Your mommy and daddy just can't get enough.   You are so smiley and loving…you have the occasional fit…but nothing we cant handle.  If anyone could handle being the middle child…it's you.  You are easy going and silly…You are compatible with your uncompatible brother…You take a beating with a smile and are such a good listener.  You love books and cars and anything Riley likes.  You can count to 10…You know the colors Red, Blue, Pink, Brown, Orange, Green and Yellow…You know the shapes circle, star and square…you love the letter E, in fact all the letters of the alphabet right now are E to you.  You sleep with your silky blue blankey and curious george…NOTHING else can be in that crib or you get MAD!  You HATE when pants are too long and touch your feet….You HATE getting your teeth brushed…You LOVE your brother and sister…You LOVE lettuce and Oreos…You LOVE Cars and ELMO…and WE LOVE YOU!
